By Brian Quinn for The Daily News – BATAVIA — When he was asked how long the area has needed a methadone clinic, a clinic expected to be ready in the next three to four months, John Bennett simply said, “It’s going to save lives.”
Bennett, executive director at Genesee Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse (UConnectCare) said construction of the clinic is scheduled to be done in June. The project cost about $820,000, funded 100 percent through a grant from the governor’s office and the State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).
