High School Graduate. CRPA-P, CRPA, and/or CARC credential required within 12 months of hire—applicants holding the credential currently or eligible immediately for certification may receive priority consideration. Addiction knowledge required.

Licensed Practical Nurse – Detox

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Physician Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Full time nights, and part-time and full-time days. Weekends.  LPN is responsible for related services for each patient and appropriate linkage to internal/external services. The LPN will participate in the Interdisciplinary Team meetings when necessary to inform the clinical team about medical issues, under the direction of the Physician Assistant.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York. Must have a current CPR/First Aid certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine the appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies. Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies. Experience in substance abuse/mental health environment preferred, but will consider recent nursing school graduate.  Shift differential available for overnights.

Registered Nurse - Detox

Registered Nurse (RN)

SUPERVISION: The Registered Nurse will report to the Nurse Manager  

DUTIES:
Per diem, part-time and full-time positions available. Evenings, weekends and holiday coverage needed. The nurse is responsible for all nursing related services for each patient and for linking patients to the physicians and to outside medical resources. They participate in the Interdisciplinary Team Meetings when necessary to inform the clinical team about medical issues and is available for emergency medical situations. The nurse provides all services under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. The nurse is responsible to provide medical and history screens, providing routine nursing care and overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician. They are also a member of the Treatment Team and will provide input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan.

Must be at least a community college graduate with Registered Nursing Degree.   A minimum of 1-year experience in a chemical dependency/psychiatric setting, preferably in a detox unit and/or inpatient, partial hospitalization or outpatient setting required.  Must be licensed to practice nursing in NYS and maintain current licensure requirements.  Maintains current BLS.
