Responsible Server Training

Responsible Server Training (RST) is a New York State Liquor Authority-certified program designed to teach anyone who sells or serves alcoholic beverages about how to sell or serve responsibly. RST is considered an environmental strategy. When bartenders or store clerks know how to properly check ID’s, how alcohol affects the brain, signs that a person may be underage, and how behavioral indicators can be used to assess a potential customer, it results in fewer people leaving bars intoxicated, fewer underage youth consuming alcohol, fewer arrests, and more people and property remaining safe.

RST is tailored specifically for on-site premises — places where alcohol is consumed, such as a bar — and off-site premises — such as a store where people purchase alcohol, but do not consume it there.

Contact Sheila Harding by calling 585-815-1872 or sharding@gcasa.org to get more specific information about RST today or to schedule a class for your employees or co-workers.

UConnectCare's Harm Reduction services encourage any positive change.

Harm Reduction is an evidence-based approach that is critical to engage with people who use drugs and equip them with life-saving tools. Harm Reduction does not ignore drug use in our community, but shines a light to provide non-judgmental care to increase the quality of life of people who use drugs throughout Genesee and Orleans Counties. It allows autonomy for people to prevent overdose, drug related injuries, and other preventable diseases.

UConnectCare’s Harm Reduction team can provide safer use supplies and referrals to community services for housing, food, and clothing, and provide transportation in most cases. Harm Reduction peers and case managers are available to meet people wherever they are at in their substance use.
