At UConnectCare, we work to support drug and alcohol addiction prevention efforts throughout Western New York. Prevention is one of the most powerful and effective ways to help reduce the impact that addiction and substance abuse can have on individuals of all ages.

Our prevention philosophy is based in science, which is why we work to present factual and research-based information that is data-driven and outcome focused. This also allows us to provide programs and support that help to identify risks based on known factors and develop preventative, educational resources to further the goal of prevention.

Below are our latest prevention flyers, handouts and information sheets. Feel free to print these out or email them to friends, family members or colleagues for use in your own prevention campaigns and efforts.

Adderall

Adderall is a prescription medication that is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in both adults and children, but can lead to serious side effects when abused. Learn more about Adderall abuse.

UConnectCare's Harm Reduction services encourage any positive change.

Harm Reduction is an evidence-based approach that is critical to engage with people who use drugs and equip them with life-saving tools. Harm Reduction does not ignore drug use in our community, but shines a light to provide non-judgmental care to increase the quality of life of people who use drugs throughout Genesee and Orleans Counties. It allows autonomy for people to prevent overdose, drug related injuries, and other preventable diseases.

UConnectCare’s Harm Reduction team can provide safer use supplies and referrals to community services for housing, food, and clothing, and provide transportation in most cases. Harm Reduction peers and case managers are available to meet people wherever they are at in their substance use.
