Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at UConnectCare offers professional, confidential counseling and referral services to help employees and their families address a wide range of personal and work-related concerns that may impact well-being or job performance. Our counselors support participants in navigating challenges such as stress, mental health concerns, relationship issues, or financial pressures.
EAP services support the whole whole person—both at work and at home—helping to foster healthier individuals, stronger families, and a more productive workforce.
All employees covered under their employer’s EAP contract are eligible to use these services. Participation is voluntary, though often encouraged by employers. Family members and significant others are also eligible to receive services.
Counseling Services
EAP provides an initial evaluation, counseling and referrals for eligible employees. Our counselors are licensed mental health counselors or licensed clinical social workers.
Participants who use EAP Services can expect the following:
- Improved Mental Health & Wellness: Employees have access to short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals for stress, anxiety, depression, and substance misuse.
- Increased Productivity & Focus: By helping employees manage personal problems, they can avoid distractions and remain focused and present at work.
- Reduced Absenteeism & Turnover: Support with personal issues reduces unexpected absences and improves employee retention, boosting morale.
- Cost Savings for Employers: EAPs reduce healthcare costs, disability claims, and workers’ compensation claims.
- Management Support: EAP counselors assist managers with workplace crises, trauma, and employee performance issues. This is something we have periodically done with contracted employers.
